Checklist Before Submission

 

Before submitting, please confirm the following. Submissions missing these items may be returned for revision before entering peer review.

1. Manuscript type and length

  • ☐ Manuscript type is one of: Original Research Article, Review Article, Conceptual Paper, Methodological Paper, Policy and Practice Analysis, or Short Research Note (by invitation)
  • ☐ Word count matches the recommended range for that type (see Author Guidelines)
  • ☐ Word count includes references but excludes tables and figures

2. Structure

  • ☐ Title page prepared as a separate file (for double-blind review)
  • ☐ Abstract: 200–250 words
  • ☐ Keywords: 5–10, specific and internationally searchable
  • ☐ Manuscript follows the standard structure set out in the Author Guidelines

3. Formatting

  • ☐ Microsoft Word (.docx), prepared using the ABGS Journal Template
  • ☐ Garamond font and spacing as specified in the template (do not substitute Times New Roman or other fonts)
  • ☐ Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
  • ☐ Numbered headings (1., 1.1., 1.1.1)
  • ☐ Page numbers, bottom center

4. Referencing

  • ☐ APA (7th edition) referencing style throughout
  • ☐ DOIs included for all references where available

5. Declarations section (placed before References)

  • ☐ Funding
  • ☐ Conflict of Interest
  • ☐ Ethics Approval (or an explanation if not applicable)
  • ☐ Consent to Participate (if human subjects were involved)
  • ☐ Consent for Publication (if applicable)
  • ☐ Data Availability
  • ☐ Authors’ Contributions
  • ☐ Clinical Trial Number (or “Not applicable”)
  • ☐ Use of Artificial Intelligence — AI Use Statement included if any AI tool was used

6. Before you submit

  • ☐ Manuscript is original, not under review elsewhere, and approved by all authors
  • ☐ Article Processing Charge (USD 400) noted, or a waiver request prepared — see Author Fees for eligibility
  • ☐ All co-authors’ names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs are ready to enter in the submission form
